Technology
The patented technology protects a method for derivatizing active proteins and binding them on a support while exposing their active side towards the outside, thus generating oriented monolayers in which immobilized molecules fully preserve their activity. The main steps of our technology are:
- The active site of the protein is protected.
- The protein is modified by adding some anchors.
- The active site protector is removed.
- The protein binds to a solid substrate.
- A layer of active and oriented proteins is generated.
ProteoGen Bio proprietary technology is potentially applicable to all proteins, and therefore it offers a powerful and efficient way to produce bioreactors, biosensors and protein chips, for a wide range of possible applications.
Thanks to the ProteoGen Bio proprietary technology, an entire series of products is in the pipeline: devices but based on enzymes other than trypsin, which can operate a wide range of biochemical reactions, for different laboratory applications.
Moreover, different devices designed for environmental applications are under development: immobilized-enzyme based cartridges for industrial waste water purification.
